Organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in Ankara
as part of Pakistan Cultural Year activities in Turkey , the mango festival featured
a display of popular varieties of Pakistani mangoes such as Sindhri, Chaunsa,
Anwar Retaul and Dasehri.
Pakistan Mango Festival included a wide spread of mango delicacies,
including mango ice cream, mango soufflé, mango mousse, mango trifle, mango
tart, mango pudding, mango salad, mango milkshake, mango lassi, and mango cake.
Guests included key political figures, representatives of the food and beverage
industry, food importers, diplomats and media representatives. Briefing the
guests about the ‘King of Fruits’ a popular name for Pakistani mangoes,
Ambassador Haroon Shaukat said the main purpose of this event was to introduce
this special fruit from Pakistan to the people of Turkey. We are hoping to export
mangoes to Turkey from next
year after signing a Preferential Trade Agreement with Turkey , he
added.
“Pakistan
is the fifth largest producer of mangoes in the world and produces world’s
finest quality of mangoes. By arranging such promotional events, we wish to
start exporting to Turkey
this unique produce of Pakistan ,”
Ambassador Haroon said.
