Pakistan Prime Minister meets with Turkish President, both leaders agree to expedite efforts for early finalization of FTA

UNITED NATIONS Sept 19 (APP): Pakistan and Turkey Tuesday discussed ways to enhance economic cooperation and agreed to work together for early finalization of the Free Trade Agreement for boosting their bilateral trade.
Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met here on the sidelines of the 72nd UNGA Session in New York.
They had an in-depth exchange of views on ways to further strengthen bilateral relations besides reviewing regional peace and security situation. They agreed
to continue joint efforts for bringing peace and stability in Afghanistan.
Both the sides noted that there was no military solution to the Afghan conflict and stressed the need for efforts for a regional approach for an internal political settlement in Afghanistan through an Afghan-owned Afghan-led peace process.
The leaders emphasized the need for the two countries to continue to work together in all areas for mutual benefit. Pakistan and Turkey also agreed on the revival of the
Pakistan-Afghanistan-Turkey Trilateral process for promoting lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan.
Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said Pakistan-Turkey relations were based on common faith, values, culture, history, mutual trust and support.
Linkages between the people of the two countries had transformed into a strategic partnership that was strengthening with each passing day, he said.
The two sides also appreciated the regular high level exchanges between the two countries and the institutional interaction through the High Level Strategic Cooperation
Council. Abbasi and Erdogan also expressed satisfaction over deepening of cooperation through political, defence, trade and investment exchanges.
Prime Minister Abbasi said Pakistan and Turkey extended support to each other on the issues of their vital national interests. He thanked Recep Tayyip Erdogan for Turkey’s unflinching support to the struggle of the people of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
President Erdogan appreciated the strengthening of the bilateral relations through concrete cooperation in various fields and the commonality of views between the two countries on key international and regional issues. He reaffirmed Turkey’s commitment for continued endeavours for strengthening of the mutually beneficial strategic partnership.
Discussing the plight of Rohingya Muslims, President Erdogan and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi urged the international community and the OIC to take urgent measures to alleviate the suffering of these people.

Pakistan İstanbul'da "Dünya Gıda Fuarı'na" katıldı

İSTANBUL, 14 Eylül 2017: Önde gelen Pakistan şirketleri İstanbul'da Tüyap Fuar ve Kongre Merkezinde 7-10 Eylül 2017'de düzenlenen 25. "Dünya Gıda Fuarı'na" katıldı.
Pakistan Ticareti Geliştirme Yetkili Makamı (TDAP) ve İstanbul'daki Pakistan Başkonsolosluğu fuar sırasında Pakistan şirketlerine yardım etmenin yanı sıra Türk işadamlarını Pakistan ve Türkiye arasında ikili ticaret ve yatırım alanlarında var olan olağanüstü potansiyel hakkında bilgilendirmek için gayret gösterdi.  Fuara Türkiye'den ve diğer ülkelerden iş çevreleri katıldı ve fuar kurumlararası temaslar kurmak için bir fırsat sağladı. 
Gıda ve bitkisel ürünler alanındaki ünlü şirketler, mesela Hamdard Laboratories, S. Amden and Company, Bhandhari Rice Mills, ve Food Links fuarda stant kurdular.
Dünya Gıda Fuarı, İstanbul Türkiye'deki gıda ile alakalı en büyük fuardır.  Bu olay her yıl 360'dan fazla yerli ve uluslararası gıda üreticisini kendisine çeker, bunlar Türkiye'nin gıda endüstrisi alıcılarıyla iş sözleşmeleri konusunda bağlantı kurmak, pazarlık yapmak ve sonuçlandırmak için İstanbul'da toplanırlar. 

Katılan şirketler kendilerini bu olaya hazırlamak için Pakistan Başkonsolosluğunun gösterdiği ileriye dönük çabaları ve katkıları büyük bir övgüyle karşıladı.  Bunların katılımı Türkiye'den ve bölgeden alıcılar arasında oldukça fazla farkındalık yarattı, bu da bu şirketler için daha fazla ticaret fırsatıyla sonuçlanacaktır.  Bu durum aynı zamanda Pakistan'ın bölgesel ve küresel ticaretteki payını arttırmasına da yardım edecektir.

Pakistan participates in “World Food Fair” at Istanbul

ISTANBUL, 14 September 2017: Leading Pakistani companies participated in the 25th “World Food Fair,” held at Tüyap Fair Convention & Congress Center Istanbul from 7-10 September 2017.

The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and the Consulate General of Pakistan Istanbul, facilitated the Pakistani companies during the fair as well as endeavored to inform the Turkish businessmen about the tremendous potential that exists between Pakistan and Turkey in the areas of bilateral trade and investment. The Fair was attended by business community from Turkey and other countries and provided an opportunity for establishing business-to-business contacts.

Prominent companies in the business of food and herbal products including Hamdard Laboratories, Amden and Company, Bhandhari Rice Mills, and Food Links International established stalls at the event.

World Food Fair, Istanbul is the largest food related exhibition in Turkey. The event annually attracts over 360 domestic and international food producers, who converge in Istanbul to network, negotiate and conclude business contracts with Turkey’s food industry buyers.


The participating companies greatly appreciated the proactive efforts and contribution of the Consulate General of Pakistan in facilitating them for the event. Their participation generated much awareness among the potential buyers from Turkey and the region, which will result in more trade opportunities for these companies. It will also help in promoting Pakistan’s share in the regional and global trade.

Pakistan Büyükelçi Syrus Qazi Anıtkabir'i ziyaret etti, Atatürk'ün mezarına çelenk bıraktı


ANKARA, 13 Eylül 2017: Pakistan'ın Türkiye'ye yeni tayin edilen Büyükelçisi Sayın Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi eşi, çocukları ve Pakistan Büyükelçiliği çalışanlarıyla, aileleriyle ve Pakistan Büyükelçiliği Okulu öğrencileriyle birlikte  bugün Türkiye'nin ilk Cumhurbaşkanına ve bağımsızlık savaşının büyük liderine saygılarını sunmak için Anıtkabir'i ziyaret etti  Resmi törenin bir parçası olarak, Atatürk'ün mezarının üzerine çelenk bıraktı.  Pakistan Büyükelçiliği Okulu öğrencileri Pakistan ve Türk bayraklarını taşıyorlardı, bu jest Mozoleyi ziyaret edenler tarafından büyük ölçüde takdir edildi.

Ambassador Syrus Qazi visits Mausoleum of Ataturk, lays floral wreath

ANKARA, 13 September 2017:The newly appointed Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkey, Mr. Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi, along with his spouse and children and officers of Pakistan Embassy, their families and students of Pakistan Embassy School, today visited the Mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk to pay homage to Turkey’s first president and the great leader of its war of independence. As part of the official ceremony, he laid a floral wreath on Ataturk’s tomb. Pakistan Embassy School students were carrying Pakistan and Turkey flags, a gesture greatly appreciated by the visitors to the Mausoleum.

After wreath laying ceremony, Ambassador Syrus Qazi recorded his remarks at the Guest Book of the Mausoleum and wrote: “As Pakistan’s newly accredited Ambassador to Turkey, it is a great honor to visit Anitkabir and pay my respects to ‘Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk’ a soldier, statesman, reformer and founder of Republic of Turkey. Turkey and Pakistan enjoy a friendship that is unique and unparalleled in international relations. Friendship with Turkey is in Pakistan’s blood. As Ambassador of Pakistan, I look forward to humbly contributing to this relationship which is a sacred trust nurtured by our forefathers. Long Live Pakistan-Turkey Brotherhood.”

Foreign Minister of Pakistan visits Turkey and holds talks with the Turkish leadership

Foreign Minister of Pakistan Khwaja Muhammad Asif visited Ankara today on a day long visit. He held talks with Turkish President Recip Tayyep Erdogan, Prime Minister Benali Yildrim and Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on further strengthening of relations between Pakistan and Turkey and deepening mutual coordination on regional peace, security and connectivity.

During his call on the Turkish President, Khwaja Asif reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong desire for further strengthening strategic partnership between the two countries through increased cooperation in political, economic, defence and people to people ties. President Erdogan reiterated Turkey’s unflinching commitment to broaden and expand brotherly relations between the two countries. They agreed on maintaining regular high level exchanges between the two countries. Emphasizing that lasting peace in Afghanistan was important for stability in the region, they agreed that Pakistan and Turkey would continue to work together for peace and stability in Afghanistan.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Khwaja Asif also called on Turkish Prime Minister Benali Yildrim. Discussing bilateral relations, the two leaders expressed satisfaction at the remarkable progress being made in deepening the strategic partnership. In this regard, recalling the important work done under the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC) under the leadership of the two Prime Ministers, they resolved to take measures to impart further impetus to this bilateral strategic forum.

Later in the day, the Foreign Ministers of the two countries held bilateral talks covering all areas of mutual cooperation and coordination on peace and security in the region with particular focus on Afghanistan in the light of recent developments. They agreed that there was no military solution to the conflict in Afghanistan and reiterated that Afghanistan’s neighbours and regional countries needed to work together for facilitating a politically negotiated settlement under an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process.

During these meetings, the two sides shared concern over human rights violations in Indian Occupied Kashmir. The Foreign Minister thanked Turkey for its principled support to the just struggle of the Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination.

The Turkish leaders and Foreign Minister Khwaja Asif also expressed deep concern over the atrocities being committed against Rohingyas and while appreciating Turkey’s leadership on the issue, they stressed upon the international community for enhancing humanitarian efforts to alleviate their suffering.
