Turkish Premier Tayyip Erdogan telephoned PM Gilani

Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan telephoned Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and said that he will be received by the Governor Istanbul when his aircraft will make technical stopover at Istanbul Airport on his way to Davos to participate in the Word Economic Forum tomorrow.
The Turkish Prime Minister said that he would visit Pakistan in the month of May this year. The Pakistan Prime Minister called upon the convening of Economic Cooperation Council during the month of March to enhance trade and economic relations between the two countries.
The Prime Minister conveyed his best wishes for wife and daughter of Turkish Prime Minister. The Turkish Prime Minister said that Prime Minister of Pakistan is his brother and he has the highest regard for him.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan appreciated the brotherly gesture of Turkish Prime Minister and said that he was looking forward to welcome him in Pakistan in May this year.

Funeral services held for PAF Shaheed Pilot

ANKARA, 24 January 2012: Funeral services for Pakistan Air Force pilot Squadron Leader Masood Hussain were held at Izmir Airbase on Monday at 4.00 p.m.
As a mark of close relations between Pakistan and Turkey and high esteem and respect for the Shaheed officer, Turkish Air Chief Gen. Mehmet Ertem specially flew to Izmir to participate in the funeral services. Lt. Col. Demir Omer Ayak, ADC to President Abdullah Gul represented the Turkish President. Land Forces Commander of the Aegean Region, Izmir Air Base Commander and all officers of the Base paid homage to the Shaheed officer.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkey H.E. Mr. Muhammad Haroon Shaukat, Defence and Air Attaché and officers of Pakistan Embassy also attended the funeral services.
Wrapped in Pakistani and Turkish flags, dead body was flown to Pakistan on special plane. Shaheed officer was on exchange posting to Turkish Air Force. His plane has crashed while on a routine training mission, with a Turkish under training pilot. 

Pakistan condole the death of TRNC leader late Rauf Denktaş

ANKARA, 18 January 2012: Prime Minister of Pakistan Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has condoled over the death of late Rauf Denktaş.
In his condolence message addressed to the Prime Minister of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) H.E. Mr. Irsen Kucuk, the Pakistani Prime Minister said:
“Please accept, on behalf of the Government and the people of Pakistan, our deep condolences over the passing away of H.E. Mr. Rauf Denktaş, the first President of the TRNC.
The death of the President Denktaş marks an end to an illustrious political career, spanned over half a century, of dedicated service for the rights of the Turkish Cypriot people. He will be long remembered as a great patriot and an inspirational leader.
Our prayers also go out to the family of Mr. Denktaş in this hour of great personal bereavement.
Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.”
The Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkey H.E. Muhammad Haroon Shaukat represented Pakistan in the funeral services at Lefkosa, TRNC.

Pakistan Embassy School a centre of excellence in education – Ambassador Haroon Shaukat

Chairman Board of Governors of Pakistan Embassy International Study Group (PEISG school) and Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkey H.E. Mr. Muhammad Haroon Shaukat hosted a reception for parents of the school students.
Ambassador Haroon said PEISG is one of the oldest and well reputed English medium institutions in Ankara imparting quality education. He said it is a matter of pride for us that students from over 30 nationalities are currently studying in the school. This reflects the confidence of parents in the high standards of teaching in the school. In a truly multi-cultural environment, a team of dedicated and experienced teaching staff from 15 different nationalities is employed. PEISG is affiliated with the University of Cambridge and is a recognized center to conduct examinations from Primary till A-levels. 
Member Turkish Parliament and member of PEISG Board of Governors Mr. Burhan Kayaturk appreciated the high standards of teaching that the school has maintained since its inception. He lauded the school management for providing educational opportunities to Turkish citizens and diplomatic community.  Alumni of the school are working both in the Turkish government and internationally on important positions, added Mr. Burhan.

Milletvekili ve PEISG Yönetim Kurulu üyesi Sn.Burhan Kayatürk, okulun açıldığı günden bu yana verdiği yüksek standartlı eğitimi muhafaza etmesinden duyduğu memnuniyeti dile getirdi. Okul yönetimini Türk vatandaşlarına ve diplomatların çocuklarına eğitim imkanı yaratmasından dolayı övdü. Okuldan mezun öğrencilerin hem Türk hükümetinde hem de önemli uluslararası görevlerde yer aldığını vurguladı.
