A roundtable meeting was organized by SAM and National Security and War Course (NSWC) of the National Defence University of Pakistan on the topic of “Turkey-Pakistani Relations within the Context of Defence and Security Policies” on April 21, 2014 at Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting was moderated by SAM Chairman Assoc. Prof. Mesut Özcan with participation of NSWC Delegation which was represented by Maj Gen Hidayat ur Rehman HI (M), Chief Instructor NDU, Deputy Head of Pakistan Embassy Mrs. Aisha Farooqui, other participants from Embassy and fifteen people from NSWC, as well as representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Assist Prof. Necati Anaz from Necmettin Erbakan University.
During the meeting, Turkish foreign policy, its vision and targets, transformation process of neighbor countries and their impacts on the region, think tanks, education issue and exchange programs, political, economic and cultural aspects of bilateral relations between Turkey and Pakistan were discussed. Furthermore, Turkey-Pakistan relations should be expanded in trade, transportation and energy fields which are currently excellent in other fields.
The meeting has been concluded with Q&A session was the above-mentioned participants shared their ideas as well as suggestions and responded to various questions from Pakistani delegation.
