Pakistan Turkey relations to be further expanded – Ambassador Haroon


ANKARA, 8 December 2012:  Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkey H.E. Mr. Muhammad Haroon Shaukat has said that the existing brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkey could be further enhanced with bilateral visits of journalists, acadamecians and parliamentarians. He was briefing a delegation of senior journalists from Pakistan who are currently on a visit to Turkey.
Ambassador said media is the conscience of people and play a pivotal role in the overall development of a country. He said media in Pakistan enjoys freedom and we are proud that this important institution of State is evolving into an effective tool of public information, education, and provide a plateform to discuss national issues. He said media has a vital role to play in promoting democracy, transparency and accountability.
The visiting Pakistani delegation included among others Mr. Tahir Hasan Khan – President of Karachi Press Club, Mr. Fazil Jamili – Vice President Karachi Press Club - Internet editor Jang newspaper, Mr. Ghulam Muhammad Jamali – President of Karachi Union of Journalists, Mr. Habib Khan Ghauri - Senior Correspondent – Dawn, Mr. Khalid Khokhar - Editor Sindhu, Mr. Manzar Naqvi - Executive Editor - Financial Daily, Mr. Maula Bukhsh Kalhoro - President Larkana Press Club, Mr. Saeed Jahan alias Lala Asad - President Sukkur Press Club, Mr. Saeed Khawar - Resident Editor - Nawa-e-Waqt, Ms. Khurshaid Haider - feature writer Dawn, Ms Zanobia Ilyas of CNBC and Dr. Zulfiqar Shallwani, Director General Public Relations of Government of Sindh.
