Mr. Bülent
Arınç said that in this hour of grief, the whole Turkish nation was firmly
standing alongside their Pakistani brethren. He recalled that the Turkish
leadership including the President, the Prime Minister and Speaker of the
Turkish Grand National Assembly have all separately telephoned the Prime
Minister of Pakistan.
Mr. Bülent
Arınç also signed the condolence book. He wrote:
“We feel deep sadness for more
than 100 students who died at the terrorist attack on the school at Peshawar in Pakistan on 16th December. We
strongly condemned the attack that targeted defenseless children while they
were learning. On behalf of Republic
of Turkey ’s Government, I
convey our condolences to their relatives and People of Pakistan. God rest
their souls in peace. We wish speedy recovery to the wounded.
Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu
called Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and expressed regrets. He emphasised
that Turkey ’s and Pakistan ’s
hearts beating together. Turkey
is determined to support Pakistan ’s
struggle against terrorism and shall continue to show solidarty with the People
of Pakistan.”
