ANKARA, February 18: The visiting Pakistan Parliamentary delegation led by Deputy Speaker, National Assembly, Mr. Faisal Karim Kundi met Deputy Governor of Konya Mr. Nevzat Dalkiran at Konya today. Mr. Dalkiran briefed the visiting Parliamentary delegation about the socio-economic conditions of Konya province. He said the people of Konya have great love for the people of Pakistan and greatly valued their support for the Turkish War of Independence. While referring to the Memorandum signed for twinning the two cities of Multan and Konya as sister cities singed in 2009, Mr. Kundi said the people of Pakistan has also great love for the people of Konya and keep Mulana Jalaluddin Rumi in great reverence. Kundi further said that it feels like home in Turkey , “ Turkey and we were always in close relations. Good day, bad day, two people help each other, was always spiritual material.
He said that the poetry of Pakistan ’s national poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal has enormous influence by the Sufi philosophy of Mulana Rumi. Mr. Kundi stressed on the need for more people-to-people contact of educational exchanges, cultural exchanges and Parliamentary visits. He also invited the Governor to visit Pakistan .
To pay homage the great Sufi saint of the Muslim world the visiting Pakistan Parliamentary delegation visited the mausoleum of Mulana Jalaluddin Rumi.
