Turkey-Pakistan relations to be enhance in all fields – Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister

ANKARA, 13 May 2013:  In order to further promote understanding between Turkey and Pakistan, the Embassy of Pakistan in Turkey in collaboration with Ankara National Education Directorate organized an art competition titled “Chughtai Art Award.” Named after the renowned Pakistani artist Abdul Rahman Chughtai, this was the third consecutive year of holding of this competition. This year’s event is also part of the Embassy’s activities to celebrate Pakistan Cultural Year in Turkey.
High school students of the Ankara Province participated in the competition under the theme “Arts and Crafts of Pakistan.” Depicting the theme, a total of 26 paintings were shortlisted for consideration of a panel of independent judges, who selected nine paintings for prizes in three categories. A painting made by Ms Büşra Aslantaş of Çankaya Bahçelievler Anadolu Lisesi won the first prize while paintings of Ms. Büşra Yurtdaş of Faruk Nafiz Çamlıbel Lisesi at Yenimahalle and Ms. Eda Korkmaz of Çankaya Güzel Sanatlar ve Spor Lisesi got second and third prizes respectively.
Speaking at an Exhibition and Prize Distribution Ceremony here at Ankara, Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Naci Koru said both Pakistan and Turkey have excellent brotherly relations that predate the existence of our present day States. He said there is a great scope to further improve our relations in diverse fields to our mutual advantate. “I look forward to other exciting events that the Embassy of Pakistan is organizing to commemorate the Cultural Year of Pakistan in Turkey,” Mr. Naci Koru remarked.
Ambassador Haroon Shaukat lauded the spirit and zeal of the students and teachers who organized the event. He said “the ideas of brotherhood and cultural affinity among people of our countries reinforce our special relations.” He also reiterated the desire to further strengthen Turkey-Pakistan relations in political, economic and cultural fields.
Deputy Director General of Ankara Provincial National Education Directorate Mr. Ismail Hakki Özen said all students in Ankara have love for Pakistan and a reflection of this love could be seen in these paintings. He showed keen interest in holding this competition on a regular basis.
All the participating students, their parents and teachers, senior officials from the Ankara  National Education Directorate and Pakistani community attended the ceremony. The exhibition will remain open to public from 13-17 May 2013 at the Exhibition Hall of the Natinoal Library of Turkey, Bahçelievler Son Durak, Ankara.
