ANKARA, 28 August 2014: President Mamnoon Hussain arrived here today on a two-day official visit to Turkey to represent Pakistan at the Presidential handover Ceremony for President-elect Mr.Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The President was received at the Ankara Airport by Mr. Burhan Kayatürk, Chairman of Turkey-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Deputy Governor Ankara, Garrison Commander and other high ranking officials.
Upon his arrival, the President was presented a guard of honour. The President on the occasion said that Pakistan attaches high priority to its special and strategic relations with Turkey which are based on mutual trust, respect and understanding.
"Coming to Turkey is like coming home", the President said and expressed hope that his visit would reinforce efforts for closer bilateral cooperation and further strengthening the growing strategic
partnership between the two countries with focus on economic and trade cooperation.
President Mamnoon Hussain Will represent Pakistan in the Presidential handover ceremony for President-elect Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The President is accompanied by Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Mr. Sartaj Aziz.
The ceremony is being attended by many Heads of State and Government as well as other high-level foreign dignitaries.
It may be mentioned that owing to our special relations with Turkey, Pakistan is represented at the
highest level on this happy moment in the life of the Turkish Republic.
