PAF Chief participates in the multinational Anatolian Eagle exercise at Konya

ANKARA, 17 June 2015: Chief of the Air Staff of Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman participated in the Turkish Air Force’s multinational exercise Anatolian Eagle at Konya today. By flying an F-16 jet himself, he led the PAF contingent comprising of six jets of the 9th 'Griffins' squadron that are currently participating in the event.

Ambassador of Pakistan Mr. Sohail Mahmood, Air Chiefs of the Spanish and Azerbaijani Air Forces, senior commanders of US Air Force, Royal Air Force UK, German Air Force, and high ranking Turkish generals witnessed the Anatolian Eagle multinational exercise.

Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman is visiting Turkey from 16-17 June on the invitation of his Turkish counterpart General Akin Öztürk. Earlier on Tuesday, he attended the opening ceremony of Multinational Military Flight Crew Training (MMFCT) Centre at Izmir.

During his two days stay in Turkey, the PAF Chief held fruitful meetings with top Turkish military leadership and discussed avenues of more cooperation in the military field.


Pakistan’s participation in the Anatolian Eagle multinational exercise will further strengthen brotherly relations between the air forces of Pakistan and Turkey. Held every year in Konya, Turkey, this exercise is hosted by the Turkish Air Force and air arms of many NATO and Asian countries are participating.
