Honourable General Rashad
Mahmood, Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee
Honourable Burhan Kayaturk,
Member Parliament
Honourable Deputy Mayor
Distinguished Guests,
Dear Children!
I would like to begin by thanking the Keçiören
Beledyesi and Mayor Mustafa Ak for organizing today’s ceremony.
We are deeply honoured that Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff
Committee, General Rashad Mahmood – who is visiting Turkey at the invitation of
Chief of Turkish General Staff General Hulusi Akar for an official visit – has graced
us with his participation.
As we all know, after the cowardly terrorist attack
took place at Army Public School (APS) on 16 December 2014, Turkey was first
among the nations of the world to come forward and express solidarity with the people
of Pakistan.
The spontaneous and strong support extended by the
Turkish leadership, government and nation was a source of strength for the
families and for a grieving nation.
In time, the people of Keçiören planted a tree each
for every Shaheed.
This gesture of extreme compassion and kindness would
never be forgotten by our people.
Today, more trees will planted in the names of the
martyrs by our honoured guest Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General
Rashad Mahmood and the Honourable Mayor.
On this occasion, we also remember the shaheeds of 15
July and the innocent lives lost in the recent terrorist attacks in Turkey and
Pakistan.
May Allah grant them the highest place in Heaven.
Ameen.
I again thank Mayor Mustafa Ak on his leadership and
his personal contribution to keeping alive the memory of the APS shaheeds in
Turkey.
Thank you and may Allah always bless your efforts with
success.
