Bülent KATARCI / HÜRRİYET:  PAKİSTAN askeri eğitim gemisi “Rah Naward”, Karadeniz’de gerçekleştirilen yelkenli gemi yarışmasından sonra İzmir’e uğradı, Alsancak Limanı’na demir attı. Pakistan Deniz Kuvvetleri’ne ait özel tasarımlı gemideki denizcilerin basın mensuplarıyla buluşmasına Fahri Konsolos Cahit Yaşar Eren ve eşi Şerife Eren de eşlik etti.

2010’da eğitim amaçlı İngiltere’den satın alınan geminin 2 yıldır kaptanı olan Albay Azfar Humayun, Türkiye ve Pakistan arasındaki yakın ilişkiler dolayısıyla yarışma dönüşü 3 limana “dostluk ziyaretinde” bulunduklarını kaydetti. Tuzla (İstanbul), Saros ve son olarak da İzmir’e uğrayan Pakistanlı denizciler, özellikle Türkiye’nin tarihinden etkilendiklerini dile getirdi.

Kaptan Humayun, “Kitaplarda okuduğum tarihi mekanları karşımda görünce çok heyecanlandım. Ayasofya’dan çok etkilendim. Gelibolu’da dolaşırken çok duygulandım. Tarihiniz ve coğrafyanız çok etkileyici” diye konuştu.

Humayun, gemide 6 Türk mürettebatın da görev aldığını aktardı.

İzmir Limanı’na gelince, iş değişti!

Büyükşehir Belediyesi’ni ziyaret eden Pakistan Deniz Ataşesi Rehman, İzmir’e ilişkin ilk izlenimlerini “3’er gün konaklama yaptığımız her limana girişimizde, bir an önce denize açılmak isteriz. Ancak İzmir Limanı’na girince, ‘bu üç gün hiç bitmesin’ diye düşündük” cümleleriyle anlattı.

Pakistan Deniz Ataşesi Albay Zaka Ur Rehman, Pakistan Deniz Kuvvetleri’ne ait PNS Rahnaward (A-24) isimli yelkenli geminin komutanı Yarbay Azfar Humayun ile birlikte İzmir Büyükşehir Belediyesi Başkan Vekili Dr. Sırrı Aydoğan’ı makamında ziyaret etti. Pakistanlı konukların ziyaretinden memnuniyet duyduklarını belirten Aydoğan, “Dost ve kardeş ülke Pakistan ile tarih boyunca iyi ilişkilerimiz oldu. Ekonomik ve sosyal ilişkilerimizin yanısıra turizm yatırımları ve turist alışverişinin da artmasını diliyoruz” dedi.

Pakistan Deniz Kuvvetleri’ne ait geminin İzmir Limanı ziyareti kapsamında kente geldiklerini belirten Pakistan Deniz Ataşesi Albay Zaka Ur Rehman, kentte bulunmaktan büyük mutluluk duyduklarını ifade etti. Rehman, “Mayıs başından beri Ege Denizi’nden İstanbul’a, oradan da Karadeniz’e geçerek oldukça uzun bir yol katettik. 3’er günlük konaklama yaptığımız her limana girdiğimizde, bir an önce tekrar denize açılmak isteriz. Ancak İzmir Limanı’na girince, ‘bu 3 günlük süre hiç geçmesin’ dedik. Türkiye’nin tarihine büyük damga vuran Çanakkale, Gelibolu ve İstanbul’dan da çok etkilendik. Biz de Türk tarihiyle gurur duyduk” diye konuştu.

İzmir Büyükşehir Belediyesi Başkan Vekili Dr. Sırrı Aydoğan, konuklarına günün anısına yelkenli figürüyle süslenmiş kristal kalem seti armağan etti. Pakistan Deniz Ataşesi Albay Rehman ise Aydoğan’a, Pakistan ile Türkiye’nin 1947 yılından bu yana ilişkilerini belgeleyen bir almanak ile PNS Rahnaward (A-24) yelkenli gemisinin bir tablosunu hediye etti.

Pakistan yelkenlisi Alsancak Limanı’na uğradı

Karadeniz'de düzenlenen Uluslararası Karadeniz Yelkenli Gemi Yarışması’na katılmak üzere Türkiye’ye gelen Pakistan Deniz Kuvvetleri’ne ait "PNS Rah Naward" gemisi, dönüş yolunda İzmir Alsancak Limanı’na uğradı. Kaptan Albay Azfar Humayun, yaptığı açıklamada, “Dönüş yolunda Çanakkale, Tuzla ve Alsancak limanlarına uğradık. Üç gün boyunca burada demir atacağız. Hem geminin ihtiyaçlarını karşılayacağız hem de bazı iyi niyet ziyaretleri yapacağız. Vali, Büyükşehir Belediye Başkanı ve Ege Deniz Bölge Komutanlığı’nı ziyaret edeceğiz. Aynı zamanda hem gemide hem de Deniz Kuvvetleri tesisinde resepsiyonlar düzenlenecek. Ardından İzmir’den ayrılacağız. Yolda Mısır dahil olmak üzere üç limana daha uğrayacağız.” dedi.

Türkiye ile Pakistan silahlı kuvvetleri arasında uzun yıllara dayanan bir dostluk olduğunu kaydeden Albay Humayun, “Türkiye ile güçlü bir ilişkimiz var. Şimdiye kadar karşılıklı ziyaretler yaptık. Bundan sonra da ziyaretlerimiz devam edecek. Geçen ay Türk gemileri Pakistan’a gelmişti, bu ay da bizi Türkiye’deyiz. Bundan sonra güçlü ilişkilerimiz sağlam temellerle devam edecek.” şeklinde konuştu. Kaptan Azfar Humayun, gemiyle ilgili de şu bilgileri verdi: “Rah Naward, Pakistan Deniz Kuvvetleri’nin uzun yelkenli sınıfındaki ilk gemisi. 2010 yılında Deniz Kuvvetleri'ne katıldı. Açık denizlerde Deniz Kuvvetleri mürettebatını eğitmek amacıyla kullanılıyor. 18 tam yelken direğe, 59 metre boy ve 498 groston ağırlığa sahip. Yelkenlerinin yanısıra modern bir iç donanımı bulunuyor. Geminin seyir hızı 7–8 deniz mili, yelkenler açıldığında bu hız 13 mile kadar çıkıyor.” Humayun, Karadeniz’deki yarışmada, büyük yelkenli kategorisinde dördüncü olduklarını sözlerine ekledi.

Turkey-Pakistan relations on the growth trajectory – Pakistan Ambassador to Turkey

ANKARA, 20 May 2014: Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkey H.E. Mr. Muhammad Haroon Shaukat here today gave a detailed briefing on the status of Turkey-Pakistan bilateral relations to the participants of the 100^th National Management Course of the National School of Public Policy who are currently on a study tour of Turkey.

The Ambassador said owing to the commitment of political leadership and keen interest of the private sector, Pakistan-Turkey relations are witnessing growth in the areas of investment and trade. He said Pakistan can learn from the Turkish experience in the public welfare projects that the Turkish government has implemented in the last decade.

Mr. Haroon Shaukat informed that efforts are being made by both Pakistan and Turkey to translate the excellent brotherly relations into good economic cooperation. He said private sector is the engine of growth and Turkish private sector is keen invest in the sectors including energy, infrastructure, and municipal services in Pakistan. Mr. Shaukat referred to successful Turkish projects in Pakistan including wind energy in Jhimpir, metro bus and solid waste management project in Lahore and showed his optimism that these projects could be replicated in other cities across Pakistan.

As part of their study tour, the Pakistani delegation will visit various departments and institutions and shall evaluate the local government, health, security and development administration of Turkey.

Condolence Message from Advisor to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on National Security & Foreign Affairs on the Mining Accident in Turkey

Excellency,


It is with profound sadness that we learnt of the tragic mine accident in western Turkey, resulting in large scale deaths and injuries.

          As Turkey mourns the selfless sacrifice of so many of its martyred sons, we, in Pakistan, stand united with our Turkish brethren in their sorrow and grief.

          I take this opportunity to convey our deepest condolences to the bereaved families for their irreparable loss and sincere prayers for complete and early recovery of the injured.

          Throughout human history, moments like these have engendered not only anguish and despair but also hope and regeneration; for nations have strengthened their resolve to successfully mitigate pains of affliction.

          I have no doubt that with its indomitable spirit, the brotherly nation of Turkey would emerge even stronger from this calamity.

Pakistani Senate delegation participate in Asia Parliamentary Assembly meeting

ANKARA, 15 May 2014: Senator Dr. Muhammad Jahangir Bader and Senator Mr. Muhammad Rafique Rajwana are representing Pakistan in the Asia Parliamentary Assembly's Standing Committee Meeting on Political Affairs being held from 14-15 May 2014 at Ankara, Turkey. The event is hosted by the Turkish Parliament.
Senator Jehangir Bader, representing Chairman Senate Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari, who is the elected President of Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), addressed the inaugural session of the meeting. At the onset, he conveyed condolences of the Pakistani nation and Pakistani Parliament over the tragic incident of Soma, Manisa where over 280 miners lost their lives and many more are still trapped inside.
Senator Jehangir Bader said APA is the institutional voice of the Asian people. The present century belongs to Asia in the fields of development, human rights and fighting against terrorism, said the Senator. He said the vision of President of APA is to evolve this platform into an Asian Parliament.
Senator Mr. Muhammad Rafique Rajwana in his address suggested that APA should make its own Chamber of Commerce & Industry giving representation to each country through already functional Chmabers. He offered the expertise of Pakistan in establishing the proposed APA Chamber. The Pakistan delegation also suggested to constitute a group of eminent and skilled persons of APA member countries to develop a vision for a more peaceful Asia in line with the decision of the 6th APA Plenary held at Islamabad.

Pakistani Prime Minister condoles with Turkey over loss of lives in Soma incident

ANKARA, May 14, 2014: The Prime Minister of Pakistan in a written message to Turkish Prime Minister has condoled over the loss of lives as a result of tragic mine incident in Soma, Manisa. Prime Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in his message to Prime Minister Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said:

“I am following developments relating to the tragic mine explosion in western Turkey with deep anguish and concern. We mourn with you and the people of Turkey the loss of so many precious lives, as we pray for the safety and swift and successful rescue of those still trapped inside.

I assure you that the Government and people of Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with their Turkish brothers and sisters in this hour of grief and sorrow. I am certain that Turkey will rise to this challenge with its customary courage and deal with the consequences with its traditional resilience.

Through your good offices, I would like to offer condolences and convey to the people of Turkey that the prayers of the entire Pakistani nation are with them. We are praying for the souls of the departed and that Allah Almighty may shower His blessings on them while granting their next of kin the courage and fortitude to bear this loss with equanimity. At the same time, we are also praying for the safe return of those still trapped in the mine, to their loved ones.

Pakistan aggrieved over the tragic incident of Soma

ANKARA, May 14, 2014: It is with profound sorrow that we have learnt of the tragic mine accident, resulting in the loss of over two hundred precious lives in western Turkey, yesterday.

As our Turkish brethren mourn their national loss, the people of Pakistan stand in complete solidarity with them. We offer our deep condolences to the families of the deceased and pray for safe rescue and early recovery of the still trapped miners. The President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan have both sent messages of condolences to the Turkish leadership over the incident.

As a brotherly nation with an abiding relationship of love and amity, Pakistan stands ready to extend all possible support to Turkey in the relief effort.
