Turkish Foreign Minister calls on the President of Pakistan in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, 14 September 2018: Turkish Foreign Minister Mr. Mevlut Cavusoglu called on the President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad today. The Turkish Foreign Minister is on an official visit to Islamabad to convey the greetings from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the new leadership of Pakistan. The Foreign Minister congratulated the President on his assumption of office and conveyed the good wishes of the leadership and the people of Turkey for the newly elected Government of Pakistan. He emphasized the significance of the strategic partnership between the two countries and expressed the hope to further enhance it. He conveyed the desire of his leadership to work closely with the new government in Pakistan and also invited President Dr. Arif Alvi to visit Turkey at his earliest convenience. The President conveyed his congratulations to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan over his victory in recent elections. The President stated that relations between the two countries were unique and based on shared values, history, commonality of interests and shared views on wide range of issues. He emphasized the importance of further enhancing the close ties, especially in the field of trade and commerce for the benefit of the people of the two countries. The President stated that we hope to host Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan soon in Pakistan.

Foreign Minister of Turkey called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) at GHQ Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi, 14 September 2018: H.E Mr Mevlut Cavusoglu, Foreign Minister of Turkey called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) at GHQ, today.

Focus of the discussion remained on Pak-Turkey relations, regional security including evolving situation in the Middle East, management of defence and security cooperation between both the countries.

Turkish Foreign Minister acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan’s contributions for conflict prevention in the region and also pledged to keep working for better relations between the two brotherly countries.

ISLAMABAD, 14 September 2018: Foreign Minister of Pakistan Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi received Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu today (14 September) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.Turkish Foreign Minister, who had arrived Islamabad early morning, is accompanied by a high-level delegation. It is Mr. Cavusoglu's fifth visit to Islamabad. 

In his welcome remarks, Foreign Minister Qureshi stated that Pakistan and Turkey have been brothers, friends and partners. The inseparable bonds of common faith, history, culture have been reinforced by mutual trust and a sense of inter-dependence on critical issues. The strength of Pakistan - Turkey relationship is not relative to time, situations or individual choices. It is a relationship anchored in affection and solidarity among the people of the two nations. 

Both Foreign Ministers held a one-on-one meeting followed by delegation level talks in which senior officials from both sides were present. Mr. Shah Mahmood Qureshi noted that regular exchange of high-level visits, and presence of a number of institutional frameworks under the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC), was indicative of the close bilateral ties maintained at various levels. Pakistan and Turkey support each other on all issues of core concern to both sides. 

The Turkish Foreign Minister conveyed the best wishes of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the people of the Republic of Turkey and congratulated Mr. Qureshi on his appointment as Foreign Minister of Pakistan. While reiterating the "heart to heart" and "Two Countries, One Nation" relations between the two countries, he underlined that Pakistan will always have a special significance in Turkish Foreign Policy. He appreciated Pakistan's successful and strong action to subdue and defeat the menace of extremism and terrorism. 

Both sides reiterated that Pakistan and Turkey are important members of the Muslim world. Our people take pride in their faith and are determined to make collective efforts in confronting islamophobia and other attempts to malign or distort the great message of peace and respect for humanity imbibed in the Holy Quran and repeatedly demonstrated in the life of our Holy Prophet (PBUH). 

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi reaffirmed that Government's priorities were focused on socio-economic uplifting of the people of Pakistan and furthering regional peace and stability in the region, and that Turkey was one of the frontline partners in this pursuit. Mr. Cavusoglu said that our two nations are destined to achieve great heights through a collective journey on the road to ensuring peace, stability, socio-economic development leading to prosperity of not only our two nations but all other countries and regions in our neighbourhood. By the grace of Allah Turkey and Pakistan are endowed with unmatched natural, geographic and human resources to achieve these objectives. Leadership on both sides is determined to make best use of the close linkages and the existing potentials to further strength Pak-Turkey strategic partnership. 

Pakistan Savunma ve Şehitler Günü Türkiye Kutlandı

ANKARA, 7 Eylül 2018, Bu akşam  gerçekleşen Pakistan Savunma ve Şehiler Günü resepsiyonuna çok sayıda üst düzey Askeri ve sivil devlet  erkanı katıldı.

Milli Savunma Bakanı Sayın Hulusi Akar, Genel Kurmay Başkanı  Orgeneral Yaşar Güler, Kara Kuvvetleri Komutanı Orgeneral Ümit DÜNDAR, Hava Kuvvetleri Komutanı Orgeneral Hasan KÜÇÜKAKYÜZ’ün de aralarında bulunduğu birçok önemli konuk  resepsiyonda hazır bulundu.Resepsiyona ayrıca, Türk Silahlı kuvvetlerinin üst düzey komutanları, Büyükelçililer, Ankara’da bulunan Yabancı Askeri ataşeler, medya ve düşünce kuruluşlarının temsilcileri ve  Türkiye’de yaşayan Pakistanlılar katıldı.

Türk Savunma Bakanı Sayın Hulusi AKAR resepsiyona onur konuğu olarak katıldı ve resepsiyonda yaptığı konuşmada Pakistan-Türkiye arasındaki dostluktan övgüyle bahsetti. Milli Savunma Bakanı Sayın Hulusi Akar “ Türkler tarih boyunca Pakistanlı kardeşlerinin vermiş olduğu desteği daima şükran ve saygıyla hatırlayacaktır” dedi. Bakan Akar ayrıca, global terörizm ile mücadele ve savunma sanayi olmak üzere birçok konuda Pakistan  ve Türk Silahlı Kuvvetlerinin birbirlerini desteklemeye devam edeceklerine güveninin tam olduğunu ifade etti. Milli Savunma Bakanı Hulusi Akar, Pakistan’a Türk Kurtuluş Savaşı boyunca, Kıbrıs konusunda ve aynı şekilde 15 Temmuz 2016’daki darbe girişimi sırasında vermiş olduğu destekten dolayı teşekkürlerini sundu. Bakan Akar konuşmasını urdu dilinde Yaşasın Pakistan! Yaşasın Türkiye ! cümleleri ile tamamladı .

Büyükelçi Syrus Qazi konuşmasında 6 Eylül ‘ün her yıl Anavatanlarını her zaman en üst düzeyde savunan ve kendilerini Anavatana adamış olan Şehitlere adandığını belirtti.

Daha önce ise, Pakistan Savunma ve Hava Ataşesi Tuğgeneral Imran Asghar Pakistan Cumhurbaşkanı ve Başbakanı’nın,  ülke içinde terörle mücadeledeki özverileri ile ülke  için gurur kaynağı olmuş ayrıca  uluslararası barış ve güvenliğe katkıları olan Pakistan Silahlı Kuvvetlerine saygılarını ifade eden mesajlarını okudu.

Bakan Hukusi Akar, Orgeneral, Yaşar Güler ve Büyükelçi Syrus Qazi ve diğer üst düzey katılımcılar etkinliğin  önemini vurgulamak için birlikte pasta kestiler.

Ankara’da bulunan Pakistan Büyükelçiliği okulunun öğrencileri Türk ve Pakistan Milli Marşlarını okudu ve milli şarkılar seslendirdi. Savunma Günü’nün ve Pakistan Silahlı kuvvetlerinin milli savunmadaki önemini vurgulamak için misafirlere  bir  de belgesel video gösterimi yapıldı.

Pakistan Defence & Martyrs Day commemorated in Turkey

A large number of Turkish military and civilian dignitaries and other guests attended the Pakistan Defence & Martyrs Day reception, hosted by Pakistan Embassy here on 6th September 2018 evening.

The prominent guests included the Minister for National Defence Hulusi Akar, Chief of the Turkish General Staff General Yaşar GÜLER, Land Forces Commander General Ümit Dündar and Air Force Commander General Hasan KÜÇÜKAKYÜZ. Turkish armed forces Generals, Ambassadors, Foreign Defence Attaches based in Ankara, Turkish Defence Industry officials, representatives of the media, think tanks and Pakistan community attended the reception.

Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar, who was chief guest on the occasion, praised the Turkish-Pakistani friendship saying that all Turks will forever remember Pakistan’s support for Turkey throughout its history with respect and gratitude. He showed his confidence that Pakistan and Turkish armed forces will continue to support each other on wide issues including the fight against global terrorism and shall continue to cooperate the defence industry. He also thanked Pakistan for its strong support during the Turkish War of Independence, the Cyprus issue as well as the failed 15^thJuly 2016 coup in Turkey. Minister Akar concluded his speech by saying, “long live Pakistan, long live Turkey” in Urdu.

In his remarks, Ambassador Syrus Qazi said 6th of September is the day that is dedicated each year to the memory of those martyrs, who gave ultimate sacrifice in defence of their homeland and what it stands for. 

Earlier, Defence & Air Attaché Air Commodore Imran Asghar read out messages of the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, who paid glowing tributes to Pakistan Armed Forces who had made the nation proud through their immense sacrifices for defeating the scourge of terrorism at home and for their contribution to international peace and security. 

Minister Hulusi Akar General Yaşar GÜLER, Ambassador Syrus Qazi and other dignitaries later jointly cut a cake to mark the occasion. 

Students from Pakistan Embassy School in Ankara sang national anthems of Pakistan and Turkey and patriotic songs. Video documentary highlighting the significance of the Defence Day and the role of Pakistan armed forces in national defence was also shown to the guests.

6 Eylül Günü Pakistan tarihinin  dönüm noktasıdır. 53 yıl önce bugün kahraman Pakistan Silahlı Kuvvetleri düşman saldırısını bastırmayı başarmış ve ülkeyi en iyi şekilde savunmuştur.Pakistan halkı benzeri görülmemiş bir beraberlik örneği göstermiş, ordunun yanında olmuş ve düşmanın şeytanca planalrını engellemiştir.Her sene bugün, Şehit ve Gazilerimizi anıyor ve  ülkemizi savunmadaki  kararlılığımızı bir kez daha gösteriyoruz.Milletimiz ve ordumuzun terörizm ile mücadelede de  aynı ruh, cesaret ve sadakat ile mücadele etmesi benim için gurur vesilesidir. Ulusun sarsılmaz desteğiyle, silahlı kuvvetlerimiz, kolluk kuvvetlerimiz, polis ve istihbarat teşkilatları bu zor mücadelede, cesaret, profesyonellik ve kararlılık sergiledi. Düşmanı hem iç, hem de dış cephelerde yenilgiye uğrattılar. Teröristlere karşı yapılan  bu başarılı operasyonların, Özellikle Radd-ul- Fasaad operasyonunun  sonuçları  önemlidir. Bu başarılar, halkımızın cesaretinin ve Pakistan Silahlı Kuvvetleri'nin fedakarlığının sonucudur. Başka hiçbir ulus, teröre karşı mücadelede Pakistan halkı kadar fedakarlık göstermemiştir. Uluslararası toplum, yalnızca terörizmin kökünün kurutulmasına yönelik büyük katkılarımızı tanımakla kalmayıp, aynı zamanda, terörizmle mücadeledeki tecrübe, uzmanlık  ve işbirliğimizden de faydalanmaktadır. 

Bu fedakarlıklar ve çabalar, beraberliğimizi ,  kolektif inancımızı ve bilincimizi besleyerek Eylül ruhunu sürdürmemiz  için gereklidir, çünkü bu özellikler şeytanca planlar ve komploları  yok etmek için zorunludur.Anavatanın  herbir santimini  savunmak en önemli görevimizdir.Keşmir itilafının çözümü  bölgesel barışın anahtarıdır. Dünya, Hint işgali altındaki  Keşmir'de Hint Kuvvetleri tarafından gerçekleştirilen  ağır insan hakları ihlallerini durdurmak ve vazgeçilemez  özerklik haklarına kavuşmalarında Keşmir halkına  yardımcı olma rolünü üstlenmelidir. Sizi temin ederim ki, halkımızın ve silahlı kuvvetlerimizin  fedakarlıkları boşa gitmeyecek. Aşırıcılığa karşı gösterdiğimiz çabaların  meyvelerini  vereceğinden, bizi  barış, refah ve kalkınma  yoluna doğru götüreceğinden eminim.

Her sene 6 Eylül; kendisini vatanı ve vatanının onlar için ifade ettiklerini savunurken yüksek fedakarlıklarda bulunmuş şehitlerin anısına adanmış gündür. 

Bugün de aynı zamanda; halen vatanı koruma görevine devam eden sevdikleri ve o sevdiklerini kaybeden baba ve anneler, kızlar ve oğular, eşler, arkadaşlar ve silah arkadaşlarına da en içten şükran ve saygılarımızı ifade etmeliyiz.

Honourable Chief Guest, 

Excellencies, 

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Thank you very much indeed for your presence amongst us here today. 

Today, 6th September, is the day that is dedicated each year to the memory of those martyrs, who gave ultimate sacrifice in defence of their homeland and what it stands for. 

It is also a day for expressing our deepest gratitude and respect to all those fathers and mothers; sons and daughters; husbands and wives; and friends and comrades in arms – who lost their love ones and whose loved ones continue to persevere in the line of duty in defence of the nation. 

Ladies and Gentlemen,

As we pay tribute to our own martyrs, let me also pay my heartfelt respects to the martyrs of the Turkish nation – from the battlefield of Canakkale, to those who laid down their lives on 15 July 2016, and to all those who continue to stand in defence of their motherland.

Pakistan Savunma Günü dolayısıyla Pakistan Başbakanı Imran Han’ın mesajı, 6 Eylül 2018

Pakistan Savunma Günü, bizim milli birliğimiz ve beraberliğimizin en güzel göstergesidir. Bu yılki Pakistan Savunma Günü ayrı bir önem taşımaktadır. Çünkü Pakistan ordusu gösterdiği kararlılıkla teröre karşı mücadelede büyük başarı elde etmiştir. Bu da Anavatanın istikrarına büyük katkı sağlamıştır. “Pakistan’ı seviyoruz” ifadesi bütün milletin heyecan ve coşkusunun tercümanıdır. Savunma günü coşkusu, sadece 6 Eylül ile sınırlı değildir. Bu coşkunun gerçek ruhu yıl boyu tazeliğini korumaktadır. Pakistanlıların ve ordu mensuplarının bu coşkusuna bütün dünya şahit olmuştur.  Özellikle geride bıraktığımız 17 yılda teröre karşı verilen amansız ve üstün mücadelede çocuklarımız, gençlerimiz, yaşlılarımız ve kadınlarımızın göstermiş olduğu fedakarlıkların bir benzeri yoktur. Anavatanımızı savunma görevini en iyi şekilde yerine getiren gazilerimizi ve şehitlerimizi burada saygıyla yad ediyorum. Terörün kökünün kazınması noktasında Pakistan ordusunun cesaret ve üstün yeteneğini taktir ediyorum.  Şüphesiz ülkenin ilerlemesi, demokrasinin güçlenmesi ve dünya barışı için ordunun verdiği mücadele her övgüye layıktır. Pakistan, dayanışma içinde barış dolu geleceğe inanmaktadır. Bizler, komşularımız dahil bütün dünya ile birlikte eşitlik esasına dayalı işbirliği ve dayanışmaya katkıda bulunmak istiyoruz. Bu vesileyle uluslararası çevreleri, işgal altındaki Keşmir’de Hindistan’ın zulüm, baskı ve saldırganlığına son vermek için sorumluluk almaya çağırıyorum. Keşmir sorununun, Birleşmiş Milletlerin kararları doğrultusunda çözülmesi, bölge barışı için kaçınılmazdır.  Pakistan savunma gününü kutlamak, aslında düşman güçlerine şu mesajı vermektedir; Bu millet, 1965’te ve terörle mücadelede nasıl azim ve cesaret gösterdiyse, gelecekte de ordusuyla omuz omuza vererek anavatanını korumak için aynı kararlılığı ortaya koymaktan çekinmeyecektir. Hatta milli değerlerimizi, kurucumuzun metoduyla, imanla, birlik içinde çalışmaya devam ederek savunacağız. Geliniz, birlik olup çok çalışarak ülkenin gelişmesine katkı sunalım.

Sonuç olarak, bir kez daha bütün şehit ve gazilerimize ve geride bıraktıkları ailelerine en derin saygılarımı sunuyorum. Onların huzur ve refahı için hiçbir şeyi esirgemeyeceğimizi ve terörün kökü kazınana kadar mücadeleye devam edeceğimizi belirtmek istiyorum.

Message from Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on the occasion of Defence Day, 6th September 2018

Defence Day of Pakistan is the best reflection of our national unity and solidarity. This year’s Defence Day is unique, as our Armed Forces, keeping alive their glorious tradition, have accomplished outstanding successes in the war against terror, which has bolstered the stability of the Motherland. The theme “We love Pakistan” represents the spirit and ambitions of the entire nation. The spirit of the Defence Day is not limited to 6th September alone, but its real spirit remains alive throughout the year. The entire world has witnessed the fervour and steadfastness of the Pakistani people and its Armed Forces, especially the unparalleled sacrifices made by the Pakistani children, youth, women and the elderly in the arduous and unconventional war during the last 17 years. We pay homage to our martyrs and survivors who defended the Motherland in the most commendable manner. I salute the courage and professionalism of the Armed Forces of Pakistan in eliminating terrorism and extremism. Undoubtedly, their endeavours for national development, strengthening of democracy and global peace are admirable. Pakistan believes in peaceful coexistence. We want to promote mutual cooperation with the entire world, including our neighbours, on the basis of equality. On this occasion, I want to urge the world powers to play their role in the cessation of Indian brutalities and aggression in Indian Occupied Kashmir. Resolution of the Kashmir issue, in accordance with the United Nations Resolutions, is absolutely imperative for ensuring regional peace. Commemoration of the Defence Day of Pakistan is in fact a reiteration of the message to the enemy forces that the Pakistani nation along with its Armed Forces will continue to show the same perseverance and courage as that displayed during the War of 1965 and the fight against terrorism. Furthermore, we will collectively face our challenges by abiding by the Quaid’s principle of “Faith, Unity and Discipline.” Come, let us play our role with diligence and devotion for the progress of our country. At the end, I once again pay tribute to the martyrs and survivors and their families and relatives. I assure you that we will leave no stone unturned in striving for and ensuring their welfare. We will continue our struggle in the war against terror till the logical end of this menace.
