Independence Day of Pakistan celebrated in Ankara

ANKARA, 14 August 2015:  The 69^th Independence Day of Pakistan was commemorated in Ankara with traditional fervor today. The Ambassador of Pakistan, Sohail Mahmood, hoisted the national flag on the tune of national anthem in presence of the Pakistani community, students and Embassy officials.

Students of Pakistan Embassy School (PEISG) in Ankara presented a special performance composed of milli songs. The special messages of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out on the occasion.

The President of Pakistan, Mr. Mamnoon Hussain, in his message said that the people of Pakistan through their strong resolve have encountered all challenges. The President referred to the prudent economic policies of Pakistan, which have resulted in economic turnaround. The President urged the nation to work in unison for realizing the dreams of the founding fathers of Pakistan.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, in his message said that Poet of the East, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, visualized the dream of a free and independent state for the Muslims of South Asia. Founder of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah transformed this dream into reality through a dynamic movement. He said Pakistan is committed to root out the menace of terrorism and referred to operation Zarb-e-Azb that has yielded good results. He urged the Pakistani nation to continue to strive for making Pakistan a strong and prosperous country moving towards the goal of development, with faith and conviction, unity and accord, and discipline.

Later, flanked by Pakistani children, Ambassador Sohail Mahmood cut the Independence Day cake. In his remarks, the Ambassador highlighted the significance of 14 August, the valiant struggle that led to the creation of Pakistan, and the efforts to build Pakistan as a strong, democratic progressive welfare of state, as envisioned by the Quaid. He also underscored the importance of the operation Zarb-e-Azab as part of the national efforts to build a secure Pakistan.

The Ambassador also briefed the participants about recent developments in Pakistan-Turkey relations and said that the leadership in both countries was committed to building an enduring strategic partnership. In this respect, he referred to the proposed Pakistan-Turkey Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and said that the first round of FTA will be held soon. He also underscored the importance of expanding cultural collaboration and people-to-people exchanges.

As part of these celebrations, the Embassy has also organized a photography exhibition titled “Colours of Pakistan -- Seen Through the Eyes of Turks” at the Metro Sanat Galerisi, Kızılay, Ankara, from 14-21 August 2015.

Ankara’daki Pakistan Büyükelçiliği Bağımsızlık Günü kutlamaları adına Fotoğraf Sergisi organize ediyor

ANKARA, 12 Ağustos 2015: Bağımsızlık günü kutlamalarının parçası olarak, Pakistan Büyükelçiliği ve Ankara Büyükşehir Belediyesi işbirliğiyle Fotoğraf  Sergisi düzenlemiştir.

“Pakistan’ın Renkleri- Türklerin Gözünden” isimli sergi 14-21 Ağustos tarihleri arasında Metro Sanat Galerisi, Kızılay- Ankara’da yer alacaktır.

Sergi; Veli UÇMAZ, Ahmet ERKAN, Tunç FINDIK, Mehmet OKUTAN ve Fethi ETEM’in çalışmalarından oluşmaktadır.

Bunun yanı sıra, Recep Levent ÖZTÜRK tarafından hazırlanan belgeseller gösterilecektir.

14 Ağustos 2015’te gerçekleşecek olan açılış töreni katılımcı fotoğrafçıların düşüncelerini  öne çıkarır.

Pakistan Embassy in Ankara organizing Photography Exhibition as part of Independence Day celebrations

ANKARA, 12 August 2015: As part of Independence Day celebrations, the Embassy of Pakistan in Ankara is organizing a Photography Exhibition in collaboration with the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality.

The Exhibition, titled “Colours of Pakistan -- Seen Through the Eyes of Turks” will be held at the Metro Sanat Galerisi, Kızılay, Ankara and continue through 14-21 August 2015.

The Exhibition features the works of Veli UÇMAZ, Ahmet ERKAN, Tunç FINDIK, Mehmet OKUTAN and Fethi ETEM.  On the sidelines, video documentary on Pakistan prepared by Mr. Levent Recep ÖZTÜRK would be on display.

The Opening ceremony on 14 August 2015 envisages remarks by the participating photographers

Türkiye ile İkili Kültürel İlişkler yoğunlaşacak

ANKARA, Ağustos 2015: Pakistan’ın Türkiye  Büyükelçisi Sayın Sohail Mahmood, Ankara’da bulunan Yunus Emre Enstitüsü’nü ziyaret etti ve Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Başkanı Prof. Dr. Hayati Develi’yi makamında ziyaret etti. Her iki taraf da  çeşitli alanlardaki ikili ilişkilerin menuniyet verici olduğunu belirtti ve iki ülke halkları arasındaki kültürel alışverişin youğunlaşması konusunda mutabakata vardı.

Pakistan Büyükelçisi ve Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Başaknı Pakistan ve Türkiye’de Kültür Merkezleri kurulması kararının uygulamaya geçirilmesi konusunda görüşlerini bildirdi.  2015-2016 yılları içinde fotoğraf ve resim sergilerinin açılması, film festvallerine katılımın sağlanması  , seminer ve konferanslar düzenlenmesi , Tükçe ve Urduca’yı geliştime konusunda dil eğitimine ağırlık verilmesi, edebiyat ve müzik alanlarındaki  bağların güçlendirilmesi  konularında karar aldı.

Bilateral cultural collaboration with Turkey to be intensified

ANKARA, 10 August 2015:  The Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkey, Mr. Sohail Mahmood, visited the Yunus Emre Institute in Ankara and met with its President, Prof. Dr. Hayati Develi. Expressing satisfaction over the excellent bilateral cooperation in diverse fields, the two sides reaffirmed their resolve to intensify cultural collaboration and people-to-people exchanges.

Both sides also reviewed progress towards the implementation of the decision to establish their respective Cultural Centres in Pakistan and Turkey. It was also agreed to closely coordinate for holding further painting and photography exhibitions, facilitating participation in literary and film festivals, organizing seminars and conferences, promoting Turkish/Urdu language education, and fostering music linkages, during 2015-2016.

Adviser’s Meeting with H.E. Mevlut Cavusoglu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, on the sidelines of 22nd ASEAN Regional Forum

His Excellency Sartaj Aziz, Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security & Foreign Affairs met with H.E. Mevlut Cavusoglu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, on the sidelines of 22nd ASEAN Regional Forum on 4th August 2015. The Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs exchanged views on regional issues and bilateral political and economic cooperation. Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs is visiting Malaysia to attend ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) meeting in Kuala Lumpur. Adviser will also meet Foreign Ministers who are in Kuala Lumpur to attend ASEAN related meetings in the next two days.

President of Turkey stopover at Islamabad, meets Prime Minister of Pakistan

Later the two leaders went for a bilateral meeting at the Nur Khan Air Base lounge. 

The Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Muhammad Nawaz Sharif held a meeting with President of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during his stop-over at Nur Khan Airbase at Islamabad on way back from Indonesia on 1 August.

The Turkish President was received by the Prime Minister and was presented Guard of Honour by the smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Air Force. The Chief Minister Punjab Mr. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif was also present on the occasion.

The Prime Minister appreciated the personal contribution of the Turkish President to the growth and expansion of Pakistan-Turkey relations.

The Prime Minister expressed his desire for both the brotherly countries to work together in increasing the volume of bilateral trade and investment through trade agreements and other measures. The Prime Minister appreciated Turkish participation in various development projects in the last few years.

The Turkish President expressed his hope that mutual cooperation between the two countries shall increase in the future. The Prime Minister hosted a banquet in honour of the Turkish President before his departure
