Prime Minister of Pakistan to pay an official visit to Turkey

ANKARA, 31 December 2018: At the invitation of the President of Republic of Turkey, H.E Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan will pay an official visit to Turkey on 3-4 January 2019. This will be Prime Minister's first official visit to Turkey.

The Prime Minister will be accompanied by a high-level delegation including Minister for Foreign Affairs, Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi; Minister for Finance, Asad Umar; Minister for Planning, Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtyar; Adviser to the Prime Minister Mr. Abdul Razak Dawood and Special Assistant to Prime Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Sayed Zulfikar Bukhari.

During the visit, the Prime Minister will meet the President of Turkey and discuss the entire spectrum of bilateral relations between the two countries. Views pertaining to regional and international situation will also be exchanged.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan will also address a business forum, and hold several meetings with Turkish businessmen and potential investors during his stay at Ankara.

Pakistan and Turkey enjoy historic and unparalleled ties based on a common religious and cultural legacy that dates back to centuries. The two countries have excellent political, economic, defense, cultural and people-to-people relations that continue to grow from strength to strength each passing year.

Prime Minister's upcoming visit to Turkey will further reinforce the historic ties between the governments and the peoples of the two brotherly countries. The visit, moreover, will also help to explore new areas of cooperation and collaboration between the two countries, particularly in the area of economic, trade and commercial relations.

Turkish Defence Minister visits Pakistan to fortify Pakistan-Turkey defence cooperation

Turkish National Defence Minister, Hulusi Akar is on an official visit to Pakistan from 19-20 December 2018. The visit is aimed at further promoting existing brotherly Pakistan-Turkey defence cooperation. Upon arrival at Noor Khan Airbase on Wednesday evening, he was received by Rear Admiral Ovais Ahmed Bilgrami as well as Turkey's Ambassador to Pakistan, Mustafa Yurdakul. On Thursday, the Turkish Defence Minister called on President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi. Welcoming the dignitary, the President said that Pakistan is an investment ready country now and that the investors from all over the world particularly from Turkey must take advantage of this opportunity. He said that Turkish Companies have invested immensely in energy and infrastructure projects in Pakistan which not only has strengthened the ties between the two countries but also played an important role in the development and progress of both the countries. He remarked that Pakistan and Turkey are bound in deep and historical relations, which are not only brotherly but mutually beneficial as well. The President and the Turkish Minister for National Defence hoped that as a result of President’s recent visit to Turkey the mutual relations will be further deepened and broadened with the help of further high level contact in near future. The President also stressed the need for early finalization of Free Trade Agreement between Pakistan and Turkey.
Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar met Prime Minister Imran Khan at his office. Welcoming the guest, Khan said: "We admire the socio-economic progress made by Turkey under the visionary leadership of President [Recep Tayyip] Erdogan." Akar felicitated Khan on being elected as prime minister of Pakistan and conveyed greetings from Erdogan. He said that the Turkish leadership looks forward to Khan's visit to Turkey which would help further strengthening of existing ties between the two countries, the statement concluded.  

Mr. Hulusi Akar earlier called on Federal Minister for Defence Mr. Pervez Khattak and Minister for Defence Production Ms. Zubaida Jalal and discussed issues of mutual interest, especially the avenues in defence cooperation. Mr. Akar called on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Gen. Zubair Mahmood Hayat at Joint Staff Headquarters. The visiting dignitary also called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi. Matters pertaining to mutual interest including defence and security cooperation between both the countries and overall regional security situation came under discussion during the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, the visiting dignitary expressed Turkey’s deep appreciation for Pakistan’s efforts and sacrifices in war against terrorism. Earlier on arrival at GHQ, the Turkish minister laid floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada. A smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Army presented the guard of honour to the visiting dignitary.




Pakistan'ın saygıdeğer Anayasa Mahkemesi Başkanı Türkiye Cumhurbaşkanını ve Türkiye Anayasa Mahkemesi Başkanını ziyaret etti ve Konya'daki "Şeb-i Aruz" törenine katıldı

ANKARA, 18 Aralık 2018: Pakistan'ın saygıdeğer Anayasa Mahkemesi Başkanı Sayın Yargıç Mian Saqib Nisar Pazartesi akşamı Konya, Türkiye'de Türkiye Cumhurbaşkanı Ekselansları Sayın Recep Tayyip Erdoğan'ı ziyaret etti.   

Görüşme sırasında, Saygıdeğer Anayasa Mahkemesi Başkanı Pakistan ve Türkiye halkları arasındaki özel sevginin ve ilginin altını çizdi.   

Cumhurbaşkanı Erdoğan aynı zamanda Pakistan halkı için beslediği sıcak duyguları ifade etti ve Saygıdeğer Anayasa Mahkemesi Başkanını Mevlana Rumi'nin şehrine buyur etti.   

Saygıdeğer Anayasa Mahkemesi Başkanı daha sonra büyük sufi ve filozof Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi'nin 745. ölüm yıl dönümünü anmak için Konya'da düzenlenen "Şeb-i Aruz" törenine katıldı ve anma etkinliklerinin bir parçası olan "Sema" törenini seyretti.   

Bunun daha öncesinde Pazartesi günü, saygıdeğer Anayasa Mahkemesi Başkanı Ankara'da Türkiye Anayasa Mahkemesi Başkanı Prof. Dr. Zühtü Arslan'la görüşmüştü.  Bu görüşme sırasında, iki taraf karşılıklı ilgi alanlarındaki yasal ve yargısal meseleler hakkında görüş alışverişinde bulundu.   

Baş Yargıç Saqib Türk mevkidaşını Pakistan'daki yargı sisteminin işleyişi hakkında bilgilendirdi.  Kendisi aynı zamanda Pakistan Anayasa Mahkemesi tarafından Pakistan halkının temel haklarını geliştirmek için alınan inisiyatifleri de özetledi.  Kendisi vurguladı ki, Pakistan'ın sıradan vatandaşlarının temel haklarının geliştirilmesi ve korunması Anayasa Mahkemesi için en yüksek önceliği taşımaktadır çünkü bu hakların korunmasının sıradan vatandaşların yaşamları üzerinde direkt bir etkisi bulunmaktadır.  Kendisi Anayasa Mahkemesinin Yöneticilerinin bu temel hakları devam ettirmek için mümkün olan tüm önlemleri almasını sağlamak için çalıştığını söyledi.  

Bu bakımdan Saygıdeğer Baş Yargıç, Prof. Dr. Arslan'ı su yönetimi, nüfus kontrolü, sağlık olanaklarının sağlanması ve adaletin ve kanunların güvenceye alınması için aldığı inisiyatifler bakımından bilgilendirdi.      

Prof. Dr. Zühtü Arslan Saygıdeğer Anayasa Mahkemesi Başkanını Türk yargı sisteminin işleyişi hakkında bilgilendirdi ve Türk Anayasa Mahkemesi sisteminin Avrupa'daki en eskilerden birisi olduğunu söyledi.     

Her iki taraf iki ülkenin en yüksek mahkemeleri arasındaki kurumsal işbirliğini daha da güçlendirmek üzerinde anlaştı.   

Saygıdeğer Baş Yargıç şu anda Türkiye Anayasa Mahkemesi Başkanının daveti üzerine Türkiye'de bir resmi ziyarette bulunmaktadır. 

Chief Justice of Pakistan calls on the President of Turkey as well as President of Turkish Constitutional Court; attends “Shab-i-Arus” in Konya


ANKARA, 18 December 2018: The Honourable Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mr. Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, called on the President of Turkey, H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Konya, Turkey on Monday evening. 

During the meeting, the Honourable Chief Justice highlighted the special love and affection between the people of Pakistan and Turkey. 

President Erdogan also expressed his warm sentiments for the people of Pakistan and welcomed the Honourable Chief Justice to the city of Maulana Rumi. 

The Honourable Chief Justice later participated in the“Shab-i-Arus”held in Konya to commemorate the 745thdeath anniversary of the great Sufi saint and philosopher, Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi, and witnessed the “Sema”ceremony as part of the commemorative events. 

Earlier on Monday, the Honourable Chief Justice held a meeting with the President of the Turkish Constitutional Court, Prof. Dr. Zuhtu Arslan in Ankara. During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on legal and judicial matters of mutual interest. 
 
Chief Justice Saqib Nisar briefed his Turkish counterpart on the working of the judicial system of Pakistan. He also outlined the initiatives being taken by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in furtherance of the fundamental rights of the people of Pakistan.  He emphasized that promotion and protection of the fundamental rights of the common citizens of Pakistan remained the highest priority for the Supreme Court, as provision of these rights had a direct impact on the lives of the common citizens. He said that the Supreme Court was working to ensure that the Executive would take all possible measures to uphold these fundamental rights.

In this regard, the Honourable Chief Justice briefed Prof. Dr. Arslan regarding his initiatives for water management, population control, provision of health facilities, and ensure justice and rule of law.    

Prof. Dr. Zuhtu Arslan briefed the Honourable Chief Justice on the working of the Turkish judicial system, informing that Turkish Constitutional Court system was one of the oldest in the Europe.   

Both sides agreed to further strengthen institutional collaborations between the highest Courts of the two countries.  

The Honourable Chief Justice is currently on an official visit to Turkey at the invitation of the President of the Constitutional Court of Turkey. 

Pakistani Parliamentary delegation reiterates commitment towards shared and inclusive Asian prosperity

ISTANBUL, 29 November 2018: A Parliamentary delegation led by Senator Muhammad Ali Saif, expressed support for enhancing trade and economic linkages amongst the Asian countries during the inaugural ceremony of the 11thPlenary Session of Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) held at Istanbul, Turkey. The inaugural session was attended by Speakers of the Parliaments of Turkey and Iran as well as a large number of Parliamentary delegations. 
Delivering a message on behalf of the Chairman Senate during the APA meeting, Senator Muhammad Ali Saif stated that intra and inter-regional connectivity was key to economic prosperity and progress in the region. 
He stressed the critical role that parliamentary forums like APA could play in realizing the dream of regional economic integration in Asia. He also highlighted the important contributions of Pakistan’s Parliament towards realizing this goal during Pakistan’s Presidency of the APA from 2013-2015 as well as its Vice-Presidency of APA Political Affairs Committee and Special Committee for the Creation of Asian Parliament (SCCAP) during 2017-2018. He also called for the creation of an Asian Parliament as a stepping-stone towards greater regional interaction. 
Senator Muhammad Ali Saif said that that the highly successful meeting of the APA Political Affairs Committee and SCCAP recently held at Gwadar, was a testimony to Pakistan’s strong desire to play its due role in the region for enhancing inter and intra regional connectivity. The meeting also helped to bring to international lime-light the numerous connectivity projects currently underway in Pakistan under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. These projects would help bring peace and prosperity to the entire region and beyond. 
The 11thPlenary Session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) was held  from 29 November to 2 December 2018 on the theme of “Promoting Economic Prosperity in Asia.” 
Pakistan’s delegation to the meeting included Senator Muhamamd Ali Saif, Senator Ayub Afridi, Senator Moula Bux Chandio, Senator Mir Kabeer Ahmed Muhammad Shahi, Senator Nuzhat Sadiq, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, and MNA, Makhdoom Zain Hussain Qureshi as well as Secretary General Senate, Amjad Pervez Malik. 
Earlier, the Parliamentary delegation also attended the meeting of the Executive Council of APA during which it reiterated the need for coming up with financial contributions for streamlining the affairs of APA on a permanent basis. Pakistan also expressed its willingness to contribute an appropriate amount to be agreed unanimously by the APA Member Parliaments in this regard.
